Apparel & Luxury Product Authentication
Authenticate Genuine Apparel & Luxury Product
A central component of an effective apparel and luxury brand protection strategy is a means to identify authentic versus counterfeit items. Essential requirements to consider in selecting an optimal product authentication solution include:
Apparel & Luxury Product Authentication Solutions
- Permanence – The security label should be permanently affixed to the clothing to enable authentication throughout the life of the product. Preferably, the security label is sewn-in or integrated into the product with minimal interference to form or function.
- Advanced Security Features – Multiple layers of overt and covert security provide maximum brand protection for apparel and luxury products. It allows the brand owner to disclose specific security features to different stakeholders for verification across the supply chain.
- Verification – The ability to enable instant and conclusive verification is an important attribute. Education programs play an important role to promote consumer awareness of overt authentication features. For covert security features, the use of hand-held tools such as loupes, readers, etc. are typically required.
- Performance and Safety Standards – The authentication solution must pass stringent testing requirements to withstand harsh processing conditions such as stone washing, acid washing, dry cleaning, etc. for clothing. Additional tests are also conducted for consumer product safety in the levels of lead, nickel, phthalates, etc.
- Production Deployment – The security label should be applied to all apparel and luxury products at the most cost-effective point of manufacture along the supply chain. Often, it is implemented as an integral component of the product.
- Brand Promotion – Security designs can be customized with unique visual effects to reflect the brand image and enhance consumer recognition.
- Label Type- A portfolio of delivery platforms is available to meet the unique needs of each piece of apparel and luxury application.
