OVD (Optically Variable Devices)
Advanced optical imaging technology that is used to provide a high level of security for anti-counterfeiting and brand protection. Different visual effects are seen by the observer as the device is moved or tilted to provide instant authentication of the product or document on which it is applied. A variety of visual security features, including holography, diffraction grating imaging, liquid crystal technology, and many visual variations within these categories, are employed to provide kinematic effects (movement), color changes, and other such features. The combination of multiple technologies into a single image creates a unique OVD with highly secure features. A key advantage of OVDs is that they cannot be copied by color copiers or scanners. They also require a high level of expertise, and costly and complex equipment for origination and manufacture. For these reasons, they have become a popular security feature on a worldwide scale.

Online Brand Protection
Protecting brands against online abuse and the unauthorized selling of items across e-commerce channels. Online brand protection includes monitoring for illegally obtained, produced, or distributed goods across international tradeboards, auction sites such as eBay, and web 2.0 platforms.

Origination
The intricate process of design, to develop and produce a holographic security device. By utilizing a variety of proprietary optical techniques, multiple origination technologies are combined into a single image, resulting in a distinct and unique optical effect. These effects contain both overt and covert security features, and pose significant replication challenges for counterfeiters.

Overt Security
Any OVD (optically variable device) that provides authentication without the need for a special verification device. The overt features of an OVD offer instant recognition, and provide the first level of verification for consumers, customs officials, investigators, and law enforcement. Effective overt security products range from those with animation effects, and the switching of multiple images that exhibit unique visual changes. These security solutions include holography, diffraction grating imaging, liquid crystal technology, and many visual variations within these categories.
